Since its inception in 1908, the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has been to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity and friendship among college women, study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women, and be of “Service to All Mankind.”

 

Therefore, the Chi Theta Omega Chapter, is pleased to announce our 2025 scholarship program. You may apply for the merit scholarship or the Linda Newman Scholarship if you plan to major in education or communication sciences and disorders. The scholarship award amount is up to $2,000.00.

 

To be eligible to receive a scholarship award, the recipient must meet the following criteria:

• Be a graduating high school senior in Frederick, Maryland.

• Have a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 2.5.

• Submit a completed Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Chi Theta Omega Chapter Scholarship Application

• Be accepted to an accredited college or university.

• Be entering college as a freshman during the 2025-2026 academic year.
